RCCC cancels classes, issues partial lockdown after online threat

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College announced Wednesday that they've canceled classes and issued a partial lockdown following an online threat. 

Due to a communicated threat on North Campus, day classes and all operations on the College’s North Campus have been canceled for Wednesday, Dec. 5, through 5:00 p.m., the school said. 

"In an abundance of caution, we are closing North Campus and all students, faculty and staff need to leave the campus for the duration of the day. North Campus Early College students should report back to the North Campus Early College. All other campus locations will continue normal operations," the school said. 

According to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, around 9 a.m. Wednesday, an online threat was received by the Rowan County Early College. At this time, the suspect has not been located.

The Rowan County Early College is currently on a Code Yellow lockdown.
