Rider Transit to launch Charlotte-Concord express route

Rider Transit will launch the new Charlotte-Concord express route on Monday that will connect Concord and Kannapolis to Charlotte.

All aboard the Concord-Charlotte Express!

Starting on Monday, the new route is cutting out traffic connecting Concord, Kannapolis, and Charlotte. The all-day express route will run seven days a week, traveling between the Rider Transit Center in Concord to the new light rail station in University City.

It's the first of its kind in the neighborhood that is part of a partnership between Concord, Kannapolis, Rider Transit, and CATS. It will make stops at the Concord First Assembly, Charlotte Motor Speedway, North Tryon-Pavilion Blvd., and the UNC Charlotte station at JW Clay Blvd.

Folks can catch a free ride for the first two weeks. After that, it's $2.20 to ride. A ten-time pass will cost you $20 and a 31-day regional pass is $40 just for local rides. A 31-day super pass, if you ride regional and local, is $60.
