Second arrest made in triple shooting in Concord

The Concord Police Department 

The Concord Police Department has made a second arrested in connection to a triple shooting that happened back in August. 

Donnell DeAngelo Adkins has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The first suspect, Tremaine Arnez Jackson, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in Kannapolis for his involvement in the shooting. Adkins was taken into custody on Friday, Nov. 16 in Miami, Florida on outstanding warrants for his involvement in the shooting that occurred at 351 Union Cemetery Road SW in Concord. 

One of the three people who were shot, Willie Peck, died from his injuries, police said. 

According to police, Adkins left two people severely wounded during the shooting. He is currently awaiting extradition proceedings in Florida. A timeline for his return to Concord, North Carolina is unknown. 

Police said they do not anticipate any future charges in this case.
