UNION COUNTY, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - The Union County Sheriff's Office is investigating after several homes and vehicles were struck by gunfire Monday night, just south of Monroe.
The shooting incident happened just shortly before 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 on Griffith Road.
Upon arrival, deputies said they found at least four homes and several vehicles struck by gunfire which they believe was likely birdshot fired from a shotgun.
Witnesses described a possible suspect vehicle as being a dark colored pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet with loud mufflers. No one was hurt during this incident.
Fox 46 Charlotte spoke with a victim who witnessed the shooting.
"Going down the road, just shooting at random. And somebody could've very well got killed. Luckily nobody was hurt and I hope the police catch him," the victim said.
Homeowners estimate that could pay $1,000 each to fix damage done to their homes and vehicles.
There is no known motive at the time.
