ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Rowan County deputies say a 19-year-old who was last seen three days ago was found murdered. A suspect has been taken into custody.
Micahael Elijah Earley was last seen around 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. He was reported missing around 9:40 p.m. on May 6 by his girlfriend.
The investigation turned into a homicide after investigators were able to determine the events that took place after he was last seen on Sunday.
The suspect in this case, Carlos Rosas, Jr., also 19, has been taken into custody. He has been charged with murder and felony concealment of death, and is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without no bond. His first court appearance is set for May 10, 2019, at 9 a.m.
This investigation is ongoing. The Sheriff's Office says a press conference will be held Thursday morning.
