Sheriff's office arrest suspect in North Corner Grocery armed robbery

UPDATE: 11/4/16 (9:34 a.m.) Warrants have been issued for Christopher Clevon Feaster, 40, in regards to an armed robbery at a Lancaster grocery store in July, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators worked with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and discovered a similar convenience store robbery on South Tryon Street in Charlotte. The suspect and the vehicle in the Charlotte robbery appeared to be the same as the North Corner robbery.

Gastonia Police and the York County Sheriff's Office experienced similar cases.

Forensic testing led to the identification of Feaster and his arrest. He was identified from Charlotte robbery photographs as well.

The vehicle involved in the robberies was found in a junk yard in York County. It is a green 1998 Ford Expedition registered to Feaster's girlfriend.

Feaster is currently in jail in York County at the Moss Justice Center, which has placed a detainer on him pending service of the warrants. The warrants issues for Feaster are for the offenses of armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of a violent felony in connection with the armed robbery of North Corner Grocery.

He is also charged with similar crimes in Charlotte and Gastonia.

Sheriff Barry Faile said, “We don’t give up on these cases.  Our investigators are continually watching activity in neighboring jurisdictions, checking databases, and looking for leads on our cases.  The cooperation and perseverance of investigators from multiple agencies paid off and led to the arrest of Feaster for the North Corner robbery and several others in multiple counties in two states.  We are glad Feaster is incarcerated for these violent crimes.”

Authorities say they are looking for the man who robbed a Lancaster County grocery store at gunpoint Tuesday, July 5.

It happened about 12:30 p.m. at the North Corner Grocery on Charlotte Highway.

A store employee told Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies that the robber entered the store through a side door, showed a gun and told her to open up the register. The employee complied, and the robber took cash from the register before leaving the store through the same door, she told investigators.

Authorities say a customer about to enter the store saw the robber as he left.

Witnesses say the robber did not fire the gun.

No injuries were reported.

Surveillance video footage shows the robber driving a dark colored mid- to late-90s Ford Expedition.

Investigators describe the robber as a black male, approximately 6’1’’ to 6’5” tall and weighing between 220 and 250 pounds.  He was last seen wearing dark pants, a white T- shirt, sunglasses, and a dark colored Atlanta Braves ball cap.  He had a towel under the cap covering the sides and back of his head.
