A shooting suspect was arrested after leading Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on a two county chase late Saturday afternoon. CMPD tells FOX 46 Charlotte they have also recovered a gun from the suspect in that chase.

Around 5:40 pm, CMPD officers spotted a vehicle near Wilkinson Blvd. that was involved in an earlier shooting in west Charlotte.

Police say the suspect, Bruce Little, 19, shot into an occupied house in the 8000 block of Lobilia Ln. just before 2:00 p.m.  No one was injured in the incident. A man who says he lives in the home told FOX 46 Charlotte that at least 6 bullets hit his house, with some of them entering inside.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 12:30 in the afternoon.

"My first reaction was. Were those gun shots?" said one neighbor, who asked that we don't use her name.

Police identified Little as a suspect. When they tried to conduct a traffic stop, he refused and police continued to pursue him driving westbound on Wilkinson Blvd. The chase continued into Gaston County.

After leading officers on several streets through Belmont and Mt. Holly, Little crossed back over into Mecklenburg County and finally stopped on Hathaway Hills Dr. where he was taken into custody.

According to Mecklenburg County Jail records, Little has 13 prior arrests since 2014.

Neighbors who live across the street from where the shooting took place say they are thankful for the quick work by police to make an arrest.

"I am real surprised that something like that would happen over here because although everybody doesn't know everyone, This is not the neighborhood for that," said one neighbor.

Little had his bond set at $50,000. He is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, eluding arrest and resisting arrest.
