A source tells FOX46 that deputy superintendent Ann Clark will be named the superintendent of CMS soon. We went to the board meeting Tuesday night to get confirmation.
Ann Clark says her focus is on her current position and would not state if the speculation was true.
CMS board of education chairperson Mary McCray says the conversation to permanently fill that position will be discussed at a January 21st meeting.
All options are being considered at the moment – to search nationwide or to hire someone who currently works in the school system.
"There are lots of options on the table," McCray said. "We have not had an in-depth conversation. I did mention to my board members that I will be calling them this week just to get a sense of where they are and we'll go from there."
The school system has been without a permanent superintendent after Dr. Heath Morrison resigned in November.
We will keep you updated as we learn more from the January 21s meeting.
