South Carolina bill would ban smoking in car with children

Smokers in South Carolina would not be allowed to smoke while they're driving with a child in the car if a new bill is passed into law.

The was introduced in the South Carolina House Tuesday and was referred to a Committee on Transportation.

The bill aims to make it "unlawful for a person to smoke a tobacco product in a motor vehicle in which a minor is a passenger."

Those who violate the proposed legislation would face a $100 fine, if caught.
