Special Olympics volunteer up for big award

Bob Bowler is a volunteer of Special Olympics for over 31 years. He is 1 of 4 finalists that are vying to win the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award, given by the The NASCAR Foundation, for his years of service to Special Olympics.

The 4 finalists have each guaranteed $25,000 for each of their charities, but the winner will receive $100,000 for their charity and a Ford Fusion car. 

Bob will be accompanied by a Special Olympics NC Athlete,  Amber Nee, 14, she has been a part of Bob’s tennis program for over 5 years and is also in Camp Soar.  A Camp designed for Special Needs Children, that is also run by Bob. 

The Betty Jan France Humanitarian Award Ceremony will be held in Las Vegas where all 4 finalists will travel to for the ceremony. 

They need your help to win, voters are allowed to go to: NASCAR.com/Awards. And people are allowed to vote 1 time each day until Dec 3.  

The winner will be announced Dec 4.
