Spirit Airlines to offer flights out of Charlotte in June

The newest airline featuring non-stop service will make its debut at Charlotte Douglas Airport this summer.

Spirit Airlines will offer non-stop daily flights to Newark, Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando beginning June 20.

"The North Carolina economy continues to thrive and we are thrilled to add to the state's largest city", Spirit Airlines VP of Network Planning John Kirby said in a statement.

"We look forward to working with Spirit Airlines to advance our excellent customer experience with even more travel options", Charlotte Aviation Director Brent Caple said.

The airline carrier is already serving Asheville and Greensboro and will soon be serving Raleigh-Durham.

Spirit Airlines operates more than 600 daily flights to 73 destinations in the U.S., Latin America and Caribbean.
