A West Mecklenburg High student was robbed and assaulted on his way to school on Wednesday -- and witnesses said it all happened by a man riding a "hoverboard."
CMPD said this all happened just before 9 a.m. The student and attacker, apparently, crossed paths, when the suspect struck him with a gun. The student ran off and the victim fired his gun, according to police.
No one was shot.
This all happened within 200 yards of the school. Witnesses say the suspect was a black male who appeared to be in his early 20's.The same witnesses believe this was a "random attack."
"He just hoverboarded right down the street like he was just on a regular stroll," witness Clarence Mosley said.
