LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Emmy Awards may bring breakthroughs and records.

Viola Davis of "How to Get Away with Murder" or Taraji P. Henson of "Empire" could become the first African-American to win as best drama series actress.

"Transparent" star Jeffrey Tambor could earn the first Emmy for portrayal of a transgender character.

And if "Mad Men" wins its fifth top drama award for its final year, it will stand as the most honored ever.

The Emmy Awards are airing live from 8 to 11 p.m. EDT Sunday on Fox. Andy Samberg is the host.
