A man has died after a shooting across the street from UNC Charlotte. The homicide comes just one day after an on-campus shooting left two people dead and four others injured.

Javier Concepcion-Perez, 20, has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Donqwavias Davis. Perez was arrested just four days after the shooting.

Davis's family has been notified of his death.

Around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 9900 block of University Village Blvd, Chuck Wagon/University Village, for an assault with a deadly weapon.

Upon arrival, Davis was found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital by Medic with life-threatening injuries, and he was later pronounced dead.

Police are investigating. They say the victim has no affiliation with UNC Charlotte, and that the shooting stemmed from a fight that began at the neighborhood pool.

No other information has been released at this time.

Editor's Note: This story has been updated to reflect the fact that only one person was shot and taken to the hospital with injuries, not three.
