CHESTER, SC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A suspect who was shot and killed by a sheriff's deputy following a high-speed chase in a reported stolen vehicle through Chester has been identified.
The shooting incident occurred late Tuesday night, Feb. 27 on 1st Street in Chester, according to the Chester County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said the incident began as a call about a stolen vehicle, which turned into a high-speed pursuit. Details surrounding how the incident turned into a shooting are unclear.
The sheriff's office said the suspect involved in this incident, identified as Dustin Case, 20, is deceased.
Saluda Street near the J.A. Cochran bypass was blocked off Wednesday morning as SLED was on scene investigating. This remains an open and ongoing investigation.
