Suspects identified after home shot in north Charlotte

Police have identified two suspects after shots were reportedly fired into a north Charlotte home Tuesday.

Ahmad Anthony and Ahmad Watts have been charged in the case, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The incident started around 10:17 a.m. in the 2500 block of N. Pine Street. The victim told police that someone shot into the home, which had people inside. The victim reportedly identified the shooters and gave a description of the suspect vehicle.

Officers were able to locate that vehicle a short time later and attempted to pull it over. One person took off running from the vehicle, but was quickly apprehended. The second person ran into a home on Irma Street, but eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody.

A third person was voluntarily taken to be interviewed, police said.

Investigators said it was later determined that the vehicle used was reported stolen on December 17, 2017.

Exact charges have not yet been released.
