Teachers rally for more state support

Teachers in North Carolina say they still don't have their teaching assistants in the classroom.

After waiting for the budget to pass, educators are speaking out about the classroom here in Charlotte.

They say in the classroom it's still a struggle, with little funding resulting in many teachers being forced pay out of pocket for classroom supplies.

Because the pay average is below the national average in the state, educators say they’re being forced to pick up a second and third job to make ends meet.

Teachers say they aren’t backing down when it comes to the state making changes and want to see more competitive pay and additional supplies invested in the system.
