Teen charged with attempted murder in southwest Charlotte shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in southwest Charlotte that seriously injured another man, police said. 

Noah Darrian Chambers, 18, is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury. 

The shooting incident occurred at 9:51 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 in the 3500 block of Crestridge Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located a man with an apparent gunshot wound.  He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The man remains in critical condition. 

Earlier on Friday, members with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Chambers without incident. He was transported to police headquarters where he is currently being interviewed. 

At the conclusion of the interview Chambers will be transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
