CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - A 14-year-old has been charged in a shooting that left another 14-year-old injured, police say.
Around 10:05 a.m. on Dec. 27, CMPD officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 7500 block of Riding Trail Rd. Upon arrival, officers found the teen with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to CMC for treatment.
An investigation revealed that the victim was shot by another 14-year-old known to the victim. The suspect was brought in to speak with detectives, and at the conclusion of the interview, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, possession of a handgun by a minor and possession of a stolen firearm.
The juvenile has not yet been placed in a detention center.
