CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A South Carolina teen is receiving some fame after he was called up to play on stage with Keith Urban during the country star's concert in Charlotte over the weekend. But before the concert, he witnessed his mom perform a heroic act worthy of recognition.
Grace Moran and her 17-year-old son, Noah, were traveling from Myrtle Beach to PNC Pavilion in Charlotte for the concert Saturday when they pulled over to assist a motorist who was in cardiac arrest.
According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, the woman and her two sons were on their way to Myrtle Beach from Hickory. During their trip, the woman became "stiff," according to her 18-year-old son, who was driving the car and called 911 for help.
At one point the woman did not have a pulse. Grace, a registered nurse, performed chest compressions while deputies obtained a portable AED stocked in their car. It took two shocks to revive the woman, but thankfully she was breathing on her own when EMS arrived to take her to the hospital, deputies said, and is continuing to recover. App users click here.
Fast forward, and Grace and Noah arrived at PNC Pavilion. Noah attended the concert with a sign that read, "Can I play your guitar?" Well, during the concert, Keith Urban saw the sign and invited Noah on stage to play in front of the crowd.
Urban himself was pretty impressed. On Monday, a video of the performance was tweeted from his official Twitter account with the message, “Hey Noah’s Mom and Dad..... I’m so sorry.... but the Genie’s outta the bottle now......THX Noah!!!! – KU”. The tweet has more than 3,500 likes.
Noah did a fantastic job, and so did his mom. They are two moments in just one day that they will likely never forget.
