Teen wanted for child molestation crashes car following road rage incident on I-77

A teen wanted for child molestation charges led authorities on a chase before crashing his car after firing a shot during a road rage incident, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

The incident started off I-77 at Exit 77. Deputies say they got a call about 11:30 a.m. to a road rage incident. The victim told authorities that the suspect fired a shot toward their car.

Deputies located the car a short time later on I-77 northbound. They say they caught up with the vehicle after the suspect crashed on the exit ramp to Woodlawn Road in Charlotte.

The suspect, 17-year-old Calvin Djuan Scott, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. The car Scott was driving was reported stolen, according to the Sheriff's Office. A handgun and drugs were also found in the car.
