Teen, woman injured after northwest Charlotte home struck by bullets

A teenage boy and a woman are receiving treatment in the hospital after police said someone shot multiple times into their northwest Charlotte home early Friday morning.

The shooting happened at 2:25 a.m. Friday, April 26 in the 3600 block of Avalon Avenue.

According to CMPD, the person who called 911 advised emergency officials that they were transporting the two victims to the hospital themselves. When officers got to the home, no one was there.

A short time later Presbyterian Hospital called police and advised that two people had arrived, a teen boy and a woman, with gunshot wounds. Both are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

CMPD said the suspect(s) shot into the house multiple times, striking the two people. Detectives are looking into a motive. No arrests have been made at this time.
