Texas man accused of trafficking crystal meth in Catawba County

A Texas man is facing multiple charges after investigators caught him trafficking 3.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, according to the Catawba County Sheriff's Office. 

Investigators located the 3.5 pounds of crystal meth Thursday in a hidden remote location off the side of the roadway in Catawba County.

The information came from an investigation by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office who shared their findings with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force. 

Investigators arrested Samuel Ibarra, 37, of Texas in connection with the crystal meth. Ibarra has been charged with one felony count of trafficking meth and one felony count of possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled substances. 

Ibarra was placed under a $200,000 secured bond. He is currently being held at the Catawba County Detention Center.
