Thieves rob 'Sweet Repeat' thrift store in York County twice

The York County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify two suspects who stole from storage units behind the Sweet Repeat Thrift Store in the Lake Wylie area.

The suspects stole several household items such as lamps, a bouncy house, a dryer and a suitcase. Law enforcement officers now need help tracking the two men down.

"Two times, two hits, same day," said Sweet Repeat Thrift Store Operations Vice President Lisa Hooper.

In the span of just about three hours, the two suspects stole from the store's storage shed.

"We have no idea how much they got away with," Hooper said.

First, the two suspects showed up around 6:45 a.m. in a white SUV. You can see them grabbing items in the video and taking off.

"They pulled up, did some searching in the shed, took some stuff, then loaded it and left," Hooper said.

Then, around three hours later-- they went back with a trailer attached to the car.

"And because our shed was so full, they picked up a dryer back here, a shark vacuum cleaner and they were taking boxes," Hooper said. "So we have no idea what they were pulling out."

Everything in the store comes from people in the community.

"For somebody to come in and steal from a charity just amazes us," Hooper said.

The donations are collected and can be dropped in the shed in the back. They're then re-priced and sold, and all the money made goes back to local charities.

"This year, we are looking at over $100,000 we will be able to give back to the community," Hooper said.

She has this message for the men responsible: "Shame on you," Hooper said. "We'll catch you."

If you have any information, contact Crimestoppers of York County at 1-877-409-4321 or the York County Sheriff's Office at 803-628-3059.

In addition, the store is always looking for more volunteers.
