Third person charged with murder in fatal shooting of Mount Holly man

Suspect: Raymond Murphy - Mount Holly Police Department 

A third person has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a man in Mount Holly last week, according to the Mount Holly Police Department. 

Raymond Murphy, 26, was taken into custody Tuesday morning in Gastonia and charged with first-degree murder. Two other suspects, Breonia Monique McLean, 24, and Kayla Ciara Rankin, 23, have also been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Isaac Geovanni Arawo Lorenzo.

On Sunday, Nov. 11, officers responded to 407 Louise Avenue in Mount Holly at 8:02 a.m. in reference to a man who had been stabbed in the chest. The man, Lorenzo, was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia where he was pronounced dead. 

According to the Medical Examiner's Office, it was determined that Lorenzo was actually shot once in the chest with a firearm. 

All three suspects are being held at the Gaston County Jail without bond.
