Three other teens charged after gun found at East Rowan High School

Three additional teens are facing charges after a student was caught with a handgun at East Rowan High School this week.

Austin Sechler, Trey Beshears, both 16, and a 13-year-old juvenile have been charged in connection to the Wednesday incident, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. 

Authorities say they found a a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson in the book bag of 17-year-old Donald Maness. Manes was arrested and charged with firearm on educational property. He faces additional charges of Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Larceny of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Authorities determined the handgun was stolen from a pickup truck that was parked on Bird Dog Trail in Rockwell.

Sechler was arrested Thursday at Nazareth Children's Home and later charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Beshears was also taken into custody Thursday. He is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Breaking and Entering to a Motor Vehicle, Larceny of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The 13-year-old juvenile, whose name has not been released, is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Breaking and Entering to a Motor Vehicle, Larceny of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
