North Carolina Senator Tillis said Monday, February 2 at a question-and-answer event hosted by the Bipartisan Policy Center that his political views lead him to believe restaurant employees shouldn't be required to wash their hands after using the restroom.
Tillis said, "I don't have any problem with Starbucks if they choose to opt out of this policy as long as they post a sign that says we don't require our employees to wash their hands after leaving the restroom."
He made that statement as an example of his philosophy on the role of government when it comes to businesses. He believes America should reduce regulations.
Tillis said, "We're one of the most regulated nations in the history of the planet."
