Two charged in Charlotte armed robbery spree

Two people have been arrested in connection to a rash of armed robberies in the city, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. 

James Arden Alexander, 30, and Dedric Lamont McManus, 20, both face multiple charges including robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping

Police said on Monday, Sept. 10 multiple people were robbed at gunpoint by two unknown suspects while at SouthPark Mall located at 4400 Sharon Road. 

Later that same day at 10:20 p.m., a person told police that two suspects entered the Domino's located at 3205 N. Sharon Amity Road and robbed the business at gunpoint. 

About an hour later at 11:23 p.m., a person said two suspects attempted to rob the Burger King at 2901 South Blvd. with a firearm. 

Both suspects were taken into custody on Friday, Sept. 28, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.
