Two men arrested in deadly Kannapolis shooting

Kannapolis Police arrested two suspects in the shooting death of a Charlotte man Monday afternoon.

Police say they received a call around 6:10 p.m. regarding a possible shooting at 200 Cabarrus Arms Apartments off of Richard Avenue in Kannapolis.

When police arrived they discovered  Solomon Gebrezgi had been taken from the scene in a car.

Police say they found the car a short time after on South Main Street near Briarcliff Drive. Inside the car was Gebrezgi with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to CMC/Northeast where he later died, according to police. 

Chay Johnson and Oscar Jarmon were both charged with first degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging weapon into occupied property.

Kannapolis police officers are continuing to investigate the shooting to locate additional persons of interest involved in the case, so it is still an ongoing investigation.
