Two men charged after robbing Belmont Verizon Wireless at gunpoint

Arrested: Robinson and Jones

Police have charged two men after robbing a Verizon Wireless employee at gun point on Monday morning, according to Belmont police.

Carlos Labaughn Jones has been charged with armed robbery and second degree kidnapping. Neopolian Robinson has been charged with armed robbery, second degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by felon and possession of a stolen firearm.

City of Belmont PD responded to the Verizon Wireless on 6501 West Wilkinson Blvd. around 10:30 a.m. regarding an armed robbery.

It was reported that Jones and Robinson entered the store and robbed the employee at gun point. No injuries were reported and the suspect left several phones and cash.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police found the suspects in Charlotte a short time later.

The suspects were arrested after a vehicle pursuit and it appears all of the stolen merchandise was found.

Jones and Robinson are currently Gaston County Jail.
