Two 'persons of interest' sought in deadly IHOP shooting

The Hickory Police Department is actively searching for two men who they say shot and killed another man in the parking lot of an IHOP late Monday night. 

The deadly shooting occurred at 11:56 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 at the IHOP located at 2415 Hwy 70 SE. 

Upon arrival, police found Rafael Cerda-Ramirez, 26, of Marion, NC, in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. 

Hickory police are attempting to located two persons of interest, described as two white men who were potentially driving a small burgundy car.
