Two teenagers arrested after carjacking ends in crash

Two teenagers, attempting to flee on foot, were captured when a vehicle that was carjacked in northeast Charlotte, crashed into a house Sunday night, police said.

Police have identified the two teens as De'Asion Coleman, 19, and Marquise Sharp-Tall, 19.

The incident began at the PLS Check Cashing located at 6140 The Plaza.

Police said two men were in their vehicle, a Nissan Versa, when one of the men went inside the business and the other stayed in the car. He was approached by the suspects who pulled him from the vehicle, assaulted him, and pointed a gun at him.

The two suspects then stole the car, police said.

A short time later, the stolen vehicle was located by officers who attempted to pull the vehicle over at the Exxon Station at 2701 The Plaza. The suspects fled and a vehicle pursuit began. The police chase only lasted a short distance when the suspects drove the vehicle into a house in the 1500 block of N. Davidson Street, police said.

The home was occupied by two adults and one child. Fortunately, no one was harmed, police said.

Both suspects, who are 19-years-old, fled the scene on foot but were quickly apprehended. CMPD said the firearm used in the robbery was located.
