Union County's four-year graduation rate is now at 93 percent for 2014-15 -- the highest its ever been.
Its 93 percent is good enough to be ranked No. 1 in North Carolina, out of the Top 10 largest school districts. The North Carolina graduation rate is 85.4 percent.
"This is the highest graduation rate we've ever seen in Union County Public Schools and I want to commend our students, principals, staff and parents for working hard and staying focused," Superintendent Dr. Mary Ellis said.
Out of the traditional high schools, Weddington High graduated 99.7 percent -- only one person did not graduate on time.
Marvin Ridge (99.5), Cuthbertson (98.5) and Porter Ridge (95.7) all placed high, as well.
