Union County Sheriff's Office bloodhound, "Justice," celebrated his first birthday this month with an ice cream treat.

Justice joined the sheriff's office in the summer of 2018 and became an instant celebrity, making studio appearances on various local media outlets.

He continues to train with his handler, Deputy Sheriff William Walden, and responds to calls involving tracking, missing persons and manhunts, the sheriff's office said.

Justice weighed approximately 18 pounds at 12-weeks-old and currently weighs 74 pounds. "His ice cream treats might be cut back to once a year," Union County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook.
