Charlotte, NC - People who live in the University House complex say they are scared to be in their own apartments after a number of break-ins and thefts.
Two shootings have also been reported in the last month in the community.
Now residents and parents are pleading at a meeting with the buildings management for something to be done.
“They need to make sure that those doors truly lock, that every gate that someone can get in gets fixed. I want to make sure my daughter is safe because sometimes she’s out at night and i don’t want anything to happen to her.” Gale helms, a parent of a resident, said.
The company says it is taking the claims seriously and will be reaching out to each person with an issue.
