Firefighters managed to save the life of a cow that had gotten stuck in an icy pond in Concord Monday.

Mount Pleasant firefighters were called to save Julie, the cow, on Blackwelder Drive. The poor animal had been stuck in the freezing water for hours.

With no where to go and many efforts later, firefighters were able to bring her back onto solid ground.

"Thank goodness they got her," Julie's owner told FOX 46 Charlotte.

Julie gave firefighters a second scare when she started to wander off toward the ice again, but thankfully she turned and headed toward her herd.
