A large tree fell on a tractor trailer in west Charlotte Friday night.

A road in west Charlotte has been shut down temporarily after a tree fell on a tractor trailer.

The incident occurred around 8:30 Friday evening on Moores Chapel Road at Sullins Road. Police say the tree trunk is in a ravine, which has been washed away due to all of the rain.

The driver is okay, but the trailer is what’s currently stopping the tree from falling all the way into the road.

Police are working to clear the scene, but say they are not sure how long the road will be shut down for. Drivers should avoid the area.
