CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - As the big winter storm pushed through the area it really packed a punch causing several inches of snow to fall in many locations.
We have a wide range of snowfall amounts across the area with up to a foot or more of snow in the Mountains to basically nothing over our southern counties. This storm system is not quite done yet, but the bulk of the precipitation has come to an end.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for parts of the region through Monday afternoon.
We will still see some snow, sleet, freezing rain, or rain for a while today before it gradually tapers off later this evening. This round will be bit more scattered and less of an impact, but the damage is already done. Any accumulations will be minor with this second batch.
Road conditions will continue to be bad across the area and may even get worse overnight due to wet surfaces refreezing. Make sure to take the necessary precautions to stay safe overnight and into the start of next week.
STAY WEATHER AWARE:
- Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain for parts of the area.
- Plan now for difficult travel and power outages.
- Keep checking in with the Neighborhood Storm Watch team for the latest!
