CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A cyclist was killed Saturday morning after being struck by an SUV in south Charlotte.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say Stacy Stranick, 55, was riding her bicycle in the 2200 block of Selwyn Ave. around 10:54 am when she was struck by a 2016 Acura SUV. Stranick was taken to CMC main by Medic but was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Police charged the driver of the SUV, Margaret Seneker, 69, for failing to yield the right of way and for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Seneker was booked at the Mecklenburg County Jail and given a $10,000 bond.
The Major Crash Unit of CMPD continues to investigate.
