CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - A woman is in custody after a fire was intentionally set at an apartment building Friday evening in west Charlotte, police said.
The fire was reported about 5 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Old Steele Creek Road.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, there were people inside the building at the time, but fortunately no one was injured.
The structure did no suffer extensive damage before Charlotte Fire was able to put it out, just a small amount of damage to the exterior of one of the apartments, police said.
The suspect, 53-year-old Rose Davis, is facing charges of arson and malicious use of an explosive/incendiary. Police said while the second charge mentions explosives, there was no actual explosives used in this event.
According to police, Davis and the victims knew one another and that an argument was had before the fire was started. Police said Davis admitted to starting the fire.
