Woman charged in shooting death of Mount Holly man

A woman has been charged in the shooting death of a Mount Holly man, according to police. 

Kayla Ciara Rankin, 23, was arrested and charged with first degree murder on Sunday, Nov. 18. She is accused of killing 30-year-old Isaac Geovanni Arawo Lorenzo.

Lorenzo was found 8:00 a.m. in the 400 block of Louise Ave. with what officers thought was a stab wound on Nov. 11.

He was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia where he was pronounced dead. Upon further examination, it was determined that Lorenzo died from one shot to the chest.

 Rankin is being held at the Gaston County jail with no bond.
