Police are looking for two people who seriously injured a woman in a hit and run accident in Charlotte. Police say after they hit the woman, they stopped to check on her, talked to another person at the scene, then drove away.

According to a police report, on Sunday, January 11th around 8:00 p.m. someone hit Jennifer Velten's car on the 4100 block of Atmore Street. The car the suspects were in was a dark colored sedan. There should be minor damages around the front right corner of the suspect's car and possible damages on the hood and front right quarter panel. Velten was taken to Carolina's Medical Center-Main.

Traffic and surveillance cameras show after the accident the two suspects got out of their car to check on Velten, then got back in to leave. As the suspects were leaving someone from across the street went to check on Ms. Velten so the suspects got back out, spoke with the person briefly then left. They were last seen turning onto the Plaza.

The police would like anyone who witnesses the crash to contact Detective Kevin Allred at 704-432-2169 with any information. You can also contact Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600 and remain anonymous.
