WWII veterans receive French Legion of Honor

Getting Results for America!

Six World War II veterans received a high honor in Indian Trail on Wednesday. Each were given the French Legion of Honor. It's France's highest merit for their bravery fighting in France during WWII.

The veterans were recognized at the Indian Trail VFW during a special ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

"It's a great honor to be recognized by France, what America did for France. It's not what I did, it's what America did," WWII veteran, Jerry Levin said.

One of the veterans is from Charlotte, two others are from Kannapolis and Mint Hill.
