YORK, SC (WJZY) - A South Carolina master deputy, who died of a heart attack shortly after the father-daughter dance at his daughter's wedding, was laid to rest over the weekend.

Buchanan, 54, died unexpectedly last week while attending his daughter's wedding in Costa Rica.
According to friends and family, Buchanan suffered a heart-attack after the father-daughter dance. He was laid to rest in a private funeral service on Sunday, September 11.
a 19-year veteran of the York County Sheriff's Office, Buchanan began his career as a deputy before becoming a forensics investigator and then detective in the computer crimes division.
"His talents will be sorely missed," said Sheriff Bruce Bryant. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in this difficult time."
