York County Sheriff's Office Media Police Academy Training

The York County Sheriff’s Office invited FOX 46 WJZY and several other local media outlets to undergo their media police academy training.

FOX 46 anchor Bill Melugin took part in the training, which lasted seven hours on Thursday.

Sgt. Josh Solomon, a training instructor with YCSO, taught Melugin and other reporters how to holster and draw a service weapon, how to prevent a suspect from getting a hold of a gun, how to apply and get out of different types of choke holds, how to conduct a traffic stop, and allowed the media to take part in active shooting scenario exercises with black powder detonated paintballs.
