CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Charlotte native Shareka McNeill scored 37 points for Virginia Union enroute to the 2019 CIAA Women's Basketball Tournament title Saturday afternoon at Spectrum Center.
The Panthers defeated Fayetteville State 75-41 to defend its title from last year.
McNeill, a sophomore, attended Harding High School. With 134 points, she became the tournament's all-time leading scorer.
They will now wait to see who they will face in the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship, which begins later this month.
Charlotte, North Carolina has been the host for the CIAA Basketball Tournament for the last 15 years.
