Despite not having one of their star freshman, Duke was able to slip past Virginia Tech in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday, defeating the Hokies 75-73 in the Washington, D.C. regional.

Cam Reddish, hobbled by a knee injury, was dressed on the bench, but never entered the contest.

It turned out Duke didn't need his assistance. The No. 1 overall seed was again led by their freshman star Zion Williamson, who scored 23 points. Freshman sensation RJ Barrett added 18 points and a career-high 11 assists, while Tre Jones scored 22 points.

Virginia Tech had a shot at the buzzer to try to send the game to overtime but were unsuccessful.

The Blue Devils face Michigan State on Sunday. Michigan Stated defeated LSU 80-63.
