Baltimore, Md. - After 15 years in the NFL, 13 of which he spent with the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Steve Smith, Sr. is retiring, the Baltimore Ravens announced Monday.
Smith 36, made the announcement at the first day of training camp, the organization said. He will finish out the year before retiring.
"I'm retiring after this," he said. "I'll go home. Be Dad."
Smith has never won a Super Bowl. He played in the championship game in 2004 with the Panthers but lost to the Patriots 32-29.
He currently ranks 13th on the all-time receiving yards list at 13,262 yards, according to the Ravens.
