#ForTheThrone: Panthers get in on 'Game of Thrones' hype

The Carolina Panthers Twitter account is getting in on the 'Game of Thrones' hype

The highly anticipated final season of HBO's Game of Thrones is nearly here. They hype surrounding Season 8 is huge. Everyone seems to be getting in on the action, including the Carolina Panthers.

On Thursday, the team's Twitter account changed its name to 'House Carolina,' along with a house banner reminiscent of the great houses (House Stark, House Targaryen, House Lannister) in the show.

Their 'house motto', well they've opened it up to the fans.

Panthers fans seem to be enojying homage.

On fan tweeted, "A Panther does not concern itself with the opinion of birds. #KeepPounding," taking a shot at Carolina's NFC South rival, Atlanta.

Your favorite Panthers players are also in on the action. The team tweeted out a couple of GIFS featuring Luke Kuechly as 'Jon Snow,' and Greg Olsen, Christian McCaffrey, and Cam Newton dressed straight out of Winterfell or King's Landing.

'House Carolina' is coming off a 7-9 season and hope to battle it out for a shot at redemption.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones premiers Sunday, April 14.
