CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Austin Theriault was on top of the world in 2017. He had a record breaking year on route to the ARCA championship. He capped of the season by cleaning up at the end of the year awards banquet.
"It was such an amazing experience," said Theriault. However, nearly a month into 2018, Theriault is still looking for a ride.
"Racing unfortunately is not like other sports, where you accomplish a lot of goals, and someone's looking for you to sign on the dotted line," said Theriault's crew chief, at Ken Shrader Racing, Donnie Richeson.
"I feel like I do have opportunities, to race at a higher level, but those are all contingent on business opportunities and sponsorship opportunities, so that's what I'm personally working on right now," said Theriault.
"I had an opportunity to live my dream in 2017, and just hoping someone gives me a chance to continue it," said Theriault.
